What is Kitty Proofing?

You play as a gun enthusiast who, more recently, also became a cat dad! That means it's your job to keep those cats safe from your messy home environment. Grab those (legal?) rifles and pop them in a safe! Who knows what might happen if the cats were to bump into the wrong thing...

Instructions: Cats will set off guns if they make contact with them. If furniture is hit by a bullet, it will begin smoking and be considered "damaged". If cats are hit they will die, letting off a unique audio queue to ensure that you are made aware. If furniture, cats, or you are hit, your score will be negatively impacted. Try to get all the guns into safes within the time limit in order to kitty proof the house!

Warning: Audio may be on the louder end, although  we have adjusted most of the very loud noises.  Still, try to start the game with low volume if you're wearing headphones!

Note: Any organizations or political viewpoints referenced in our game are present solely for the sake of lighthearted satire. We are not making any kind of political stance with this game. Feel free to just enjoy the experience!

This project was developed by Michael and Matthew Burkett as a part of the 2023 Score Space Game Jam. Aside from textures, all assets used were created in the 3-day period by the two of us. All textures were obtained for free from BlenderKit.
